Simple Lifestyle First Birthday Session
Jordan and her family came into our studio in the summer of 2023 for their son’s milestone session. First birthdays are such an important milestone and we love celebrating with families in our studio. During the design consultation, Jordan decided on a simple session without many props to capture his personality and make him the sole focus of the portraits. Although Tricia photographed this session, Jackie was still excited because this was the session of her dreams!
When they arrived in the studio, their baby boy was all smiles. Indeed, he was very happy throughout the entire session and we were able to take great photos of him. We chose simple white and cream backdrops that went perfectly with his simple, but very cute outfits. We love the classic white t-shirt and denim jeans combination. First, we started with him in a white t-shirt and blue overalls for solo portraits. He was not able to stand without assistance, so he was crawling through the set.
Then, we transitioned to our cake smash set in our white room. This minimal set is perfect for what Jordan envisioned for her son’s special day. Clearly, we captured his details and his little personality. Instead of all the props, we used a large golden number one balloon. Of course, he had such a blast eating his small and simple birthday cake. He had no trouble smashing that cake.
