White and Green Newborn Session
We had the pleasure of welcoming Colleen and her adorable son, Sidney, into our studio in the spring of 2023. This newborn session is extra special because it was a mommy and me session. Colleen wanted a classic newborn session with predominantly cream colors and some green for contrast. Certainly, you will find infant portraits, sleepy newborn poses, and beautiful moments captured between mother and son.
The Newborn Session
First, we started the session as Colleen was getting her hair and make-up done. As Coleen was getting pampered, we made sure Sidney was swaddled and comfortable in his wrap, ready for solo portraits. Jackie is a master at getting babies comfortable during newborn sessions. In fact, she has three boys herself and has mastered swaddling and rocking babies to sleep. We encourage clients to bring in any heirlooms or personalized items to be photographed during the session. As you can see, Colleen brought in a personalized wooden circle with her son’s name on it.
Then, we transitioned to our second set of the day. Sidney, was still fast asleep when we placed in him our tiny brown crib photography prop. Surely, safety is our top priority so we always have our assistant nearby in case he moves abruptly. Finally, we moved into our white set and took dreamy portraits of Colleen with her baby boy. We took Sidney out of his swaddle and soon after he awoke but not before capturing him awake in his mother’s arms. Of course, we took a few pictures of Colleen breastfeeding so she can always look back on this beautiful moment with her son for years to come. Are you interested in a newborn session?
