Hello and welcome! Whether it is your first baby or your fifth, this is the most precious time to capture. Your baby will only be this small for a short period. Let’s capture their chubby cheeks, fuzzy hair, tiny fingers and toes, squishy lips and tiny smirks. We love to capture siblings and parents as well, so we include any family member that would like to be involved. That also includes grandparents! Bring the fam! She didn’t even flinch when he had a major poop blowout all over her swaddles! She cleaned him up without even batting an eye and even encouraged us to go get a snack (that she had all set up for us when we got there) so we wouldn’t have to worry about it. We wanted to highlight our IVF journey in this shoot and Jackie went as far as going to Build a Bear to get a lab coat that would fit our very tiny u0022science babyu0022. The goal of each session is for you to leave with printed artwork including heirloom albums, fine art prints, and custom wall art created for your home and your style. Client favorites include museum quality gallery wrapped canvas, custom framing, and heirloom albums. These are your forever memories and we are so lucky to share this special season of life with you and your family.

The detailed process for your newborn photography session

Planning your newborn photo shoot

Before each session, Jackie will send you a questionnaire. She will go over all of your expectations, ideas and flow of the session. This is very important so that she is prepared the day of and if she needs to order any special items. A complimentary zoom is available during business hours.

Newborn mini sessions will have a detailed questionnaire to submit through email so that we are prepared for your session. Props, dresses and special requests are not accommodated with mini sessions. If you are looking for props, beds, posed bean bag, outfits, dresses and wraps, you would need to book a customized newborn session.

Session Day!

The day of your session, is a relaxing day for you. Jackie and her assistant will work with baby if you decide to have your hair and makeup done. Hair and makeup is highly recommended! We work with the best hair and makeup artists in the area. Newborn sessions are completed at 10am on Tuedays and Wednesdays in our Southampton NJ studio. In home sessions are also available upon request.

This is your time to relax and enjoy a few hours of conversation and pampering. Jackie will take care of changing, feedings with bottles and snuggling your precious baby to sleep.

If you book our new mini newborn session, we will plan through email. These are lifestyle and do not include hair and makeup, props or designed items. You are welcome to bring props of your own. Family and sibling photos are welcome as well.

Picking your photos

Right after your session, Jackie will upload your photos to an Ipad for you to view your images right away. Yes! That is right! This allows her to get your images back to you as fast as possible. She will then send your purchased images to the editor same day. Editing takes up to 2 weeks and products take up to 8 weeks.

Newborn mini sessions are done through an online gallery and given instructions of how to choose images or upgrade your packages.

frequently asked questions

It’s best to book your due date on our calendar 3 months before if you are looking for a customized newborn session. We only take 5 newborns a month so that we can give our clients the best experience. We also want schedule your design consultation so we can go over all of your expectations for your sessions. Is your baby here already? Not a problem! Still inquire to see if we have availability. We know babies come when they want, so we understand last minute bookings as well. If you are looking for a mini session, you can do so above through our booking link.

Not a problem! We have photographed babies 6 weeks and older as well. You just take the time to think about recovering and supporting your little peanut!

Absolutely! We use pinterest boards are a guide for our customized three hour sessions. The lifestyle newborn session does not include props. Not all babies go into certain poses. We take your pinterest board and add it into our workflow for your session. Sometimes babies do not like to be naked or do not like their fingers fussed with, so if babies become uncomfortable or fussy, we then move onto the next pose in our workflow. We average about 10-20 different set ups for our customized newborn sessions.

Of course it is! But! I had to be done right. At Stinsman Photography, we have been trained by the best in the business and have attended multiple safety seminars. We are CPR certified and know many queues if baby is in distress or uncomfortable. Check out this blog about how to pick the right photographer that is trained in newborn safety!

Our mini session is lifestyle, which means unposed, unwrapped and in an outfit that you provide. We can give you guidance through email on outfit choices.

Our customized 3 hour sessions are limitless. We design your session through zoom to make all of your wanted and needs come to life. These also include hair and makeup so you have one less thing to remember in the morning. Yes, these are longer so the pricing is higher. That means you get more time and more options at your ordering appointment.

We like babies to be between 12-20 days new. Online you will see many sites say 7-10 days but we find that nursing mothers are still growing their milk supply and some many need additional doctors appointments. We find the best days to be between 14-16 days. Of course, we have photographed sooner and later then 20 days, so if baby needs come extra time in the NICU or appointments we are always flexible!
