Since 2021, we have had the distinct pleasure of photographing the beautiful Dunlap family. Today, Karrie and Michael are the proud, glowing parents of three incredible children. This past April, they stepped back into our studio to celebrate the arrival of their sweet newborn daughter, and the session was nothing short of magical.

Much like their very first session with us, we decided to keep the styling light, bright, and airy. For this milestone, we utilized our signature all-white set. This minimalist backdrop is a favorite for a reason: it offers incredible versatility and ensures that all of a family’s portrait sessions remain beautifully cohesive over the years. The Art of Minimalist Newborn Photography
When it comes to newborn portraits, timing is everything. We love welcoming babies into the studio during the sweet spot of 12 to 16 days old. At this stage, they are still wonderfully sleepy and curled up, allowing them to fit perfectly into our tiny, specialized crib props and rustic wicker baskets.
Our approach to newborn styling relies on soft, organic textures that complement the baby rather than distracting from them. By keeping the sets minimalist and free of clutter, we ensure the focus never shifts away from what truly matters. The highlight of every portrait is—and always will be—the beautiful connection of the family and the pure innocence of the new baby.
