We were absolutely thrilled to welcome the Barbello family back to our studio in early September 2025, this time to celebrate a truly enchanting milestone: their youngest daughter’s first birthday. Over the past few years, we’ve had the distinct pleasure of documenting this wonderful family’s journey into parenthood, capturing precious moments along the way. There’s nothing quite like seeing our returning clients, witnessing their families grow, and sharing in the pure joy and love they radiate.

This particular session was all about celebrating their youngest daughter’s first year. Alongside adorable solo portraits, we created a custom mermaid-themed cake smash backdrop, a whimsical setting for her special day. And, of course, no session would be complete without a few heartwarming portraits of the entire family, as well as sibling photos featuring her doting big sister. Kristin, with her keen eye for style, chose the most delightful light purple outfits for both of her daughters, creating a color-coordinated moment that was simply picture-perfect.

As is our tradition, we began the session with family portraits against our classic white set. This allows the little ones to ease into the environment, familiarize themselves with the space, and reconnect with Jackie. Our incredibly talented photographer, Jackie, has a remarkable knack for capturing the attention of children, coaxing out those genuine, radiant smiles. Jackie and her wonderful assistant are always ready to go the extra mile to ensure our young clients look directly at the camera, resulting in truly beautiful portraits.

The session was an absolute blast, filled with laughter and love. The big sister was overjoyed to celebrate her little sister, bringing an infectious energy to the studio that day. Working with toddlers is always a unique experience, especially when we have the opportunity to capture sibling photos. We deeply value the special bond between siblings, and we always strive to immortalize their connection through heartfelt portraits.
Sibling bonds are truly unique, forged through shared childhoods and family experiences. They offer built-in companionship, teaching valuable lessons in sharing, empathy, and conflict resolution. Siblings often provide a sense of belonging and a lifelong support system, celebrating each other’s triumphs and offering comfort during challenges. These relationships can be among the most enduring and impactful in a person’s life, shaping who we become.

To cap off the session, we indulged in a delightful custom cake smash. The sisters had an absolute ball, savoring every bite of their delicious birthday cake from our favorite local patisserie. This session was truly special, and we feel so honored to have been a part of the Barbello family’s milestones over the years. Moments like these are fleeting, and we are grateful for the opportunity to capture them. We’re already eagerly anticipating the Barbello family’s return to the studio for this year’s holiday season!
