Minimalistic Fresh 48 Session | Freehold Newborn Photographer

We had the pleasure of welcoming Antoinette and her wife Kate as new clients to our photography family in the summer of 2024. They recently moved to the area and chose us to capture the precious moments of their second baby’s birth. Their new bundle of joy was delivered at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, New Jersey, a place renowned for its exceptional care and facilities.

From the moment we met Antoinette and Kate, we knew this session would be special. It was not only their first time working with us but also a significant milestone as they celebrated the arrival of their second child. Understanding the importance of this moment, we aimed to create a session that mirrored the experience they had with their first baby, who was born in a different state.

In-hospital birth photography holds a unique charm. It captures the raw, genuine emotions that unfold in those first few hours of life. The setting itself, with its soft lighting and intimate atmosphere, adds a layer of authenticity that can’t be replicated. For Antoinette and Kate, we focused on blending lifestyle photography with a few posed shots to create a balanced gallery of memories.

Typically, our Fresh 48 sessions are minimalistic. We prefer to keep the focus on the family and the newborn, steering clear of elaborate props and baskets. However, understanding the sentimental value of continuity for Antoinette and Kate, we made an exception. They had a special request to include a basket similar to the one used in their first child’s birth session. We ensured that Jackie took an easy-to-carry, hospital-friendly basket to meet their needs.

The session was a beautiful blend of candid moments and carefully posed shots. We captured the tender exchanges between Antoinette and Kate, the awe in their eyes as they held their newborn, and the tiny details that make these early days so precious. The lifestyle photos, in particular, stood out, showcasing the genuine love and connection within this growing family.

In-hospital birth photography is more than just a series of pictures; it’s about telling a story. The story of a baby’s first hours, the parents’ joy and exhaustion, and the beginning of a new chapter in their lives. For Antoinette and Kate, this session was a way to preserve these fleeting moments, creating a tangible memory they can cherish forever.

We understand that every family has unique preferences and traditions, and we strive to accommodate these in our sessions. Whether it’s a special prop, a particular pose, or a specific setting, we’re here to make your vision come to life. Antoinette and Kate’s session is a testament to our commitment to personalized service and attention to detail.

If you’re considering in-hospital birth photography, we encourage you to think about what elements are most meaningful to you. Whether it’s capturing the first family cuddle, the baby’s tiny features, or the parents’ first reactions, these photos will become a treasured part of your family’s history.

We are grateful to Antoinette and Kate for trusting us with such an important moment in their lives. Their session at Cooper University Hospital was a beautiful reminder of why we love what we do. We look forward to capturing many more special moments for families in our community.
