We welcomed Kerrie and her family into the studio again for their son’s milestone session in the Summer of 2024. Kerrie is a returning client, and we’ve had the pleasure of capturing many special moments for their family. Over the years, we’ve done numerous mini sessions for them, including their daughters’ newborn and first birthday photos. Naturally, we also had to document their son’s newborn and first birthday milestones.
Each session has been a unique opportunity to witness and capture the growth and joy of their family. What we loved about this particular session was their request for a “Top One” theme that wasn’t overly done. They wanted to celebrate their son’s first birthday with a theme, but without making it too elaborate. We used a banner to incorporate the theme subtly, which added a touch of festivity without overwhelming the setting. This approach allowed us to maintain the focus on the family, which is always our priority. The simplicity of the backdrop ensured that the family’s genuine interactions and emotions were the highlight of the photos.
Despite the very hot weather, we ventured outside to capture a few photos. The natural light and outdoor setting added a beautiful, authentic touch to the session. The warmth of the sunlight and the vibrant outdoor environment brought an extra layer of charm to the photos, making them even more special. It’s always a joy to work with clients like Kerry who value the importance of capturing genuine moments and emotions. Their appreciation for natural and heartfelt photography aligns perfectly with our approach, making each session a rewarding experience.

The theme, whether simple or elaborate, adds a personal touch that reflects the family’s style and the child’s emerging personality.
