We welcomed Talia and her family into our Southampton, New Jersey studio in the summer of 2024 for their son’s milestone session. It was a beautiful summer day so we took advantage of the weather and took some outdoor portraits of them right behind our studio. Actually, this beautiful family opted for our Baby Plan and you can see and read about their maternity and newborn session here.
Our Baby Plan consists of maternity, newborn, and first birthday sessions for a single session fee that gives you a nearly $200 discount. Instead of paying a session fee for each session, you pay it in a bundle and have your time and date with Jackie in the books to capture the first year of your parenthood journey!
As you can see, Thalia and her husband opted for a classic white and denim look for their session. First, to ensure we captured our outdoor photos we took a short walk behind the studio and took cute family portraits with the lush greenery. Then, we went inside and got comfortable in our white room. This room is where we do our tubby time, and our light and bright portraits, etc. We like to use this room first so the kiddos can feel comfortable in the space and crawl around.
Certainly, we were sure to take mommy-and-me photos and daddy-and-me portraits. If you look at their maternity and newborn blog that was linked above in the first paragraph, you can see that they brought back their family dog, Nala, who is a very good girl and did amazing during her brothers’ photoshoot.
We concluded this milestone session with a custom beach-themed backdrop. Thalia decided on a simple and textured, tiny white cake. We love using simple small cakes because it doesn’t take the focus away from the kiddos for their portraits! Clearly, you can see that he was enjoying his first birthday cake and all it was too. We love the relationship that Nala and her brother already have.
Why do a first birthday session?
First birthday photoshoots are a wonderful way to commemorate a major milestone in a child’s life.
