Summer Maternity and Newborn Sessions

Melinda and her family joined us for her maternity session at Sayen Gardens in Hamilton, New Jersey. They decided to incorporate their first two babies, her fur babies, into both sessions. They loved the outdoors and wanted lots of greenery so this location was perfect for her maternity session. Then, a few weeks later, we welcomed them into our studio for a super cute newborn session.

Indeed, it was very hot in August. We made sure to take lots of breaks and made sure their dogs took water breaks as well. For her newborn session, Melinda also wanted to include lots of greenery and flowers. Flowers and greenery were the perfect themes for this Summer maternity and newborn sessions.

Of course, we needed to include their cute doggos! Also, the majority of the newborn session was done with composites. A composite is when you utilize two or more images to create a new one. We utilized a composite to photoshop the dogs into a photo. In this case, we did this with the baby in the bucket image.

Baby’s safety is most important so we would rather take the time to edit later than have an accident in the studio. Therefore, both dogs were photographed separately and then photoshopped into the bucket image. Then, we shot in the bedroom set, they did so great and lay on the bed like good boys.
